The Blossom & Wither of One
Opening Night: 14 November 6 - 8 pm
15 Nov - 21 Dec 2025
The Blossom & Wither of One brings together two local sculptors, Logan Bow and Gerda Satunas in a dialogue about growth, change, and decline. Curated by Xhuba Gallery, the exhibition explores the shared human experience of blossoming and withering - a reminder that beauty exists in both beginnings and endings, and highs and lows of life.
Logan Bow’s sculptures reflect the vitality and innocence of life’s beginnings, crafted in polymethyl methacrylate that echo effortless growth. Gerda Satunas’ ceramics, intricate and contemplative, explore life’s complexity and the subtle poetry of maturity. Together, their works trace the cycles of blossoming and withering, inviting visitors to reflect on transformation, impermanence, and the beauty in every stage of life.
Includes a stunning dried floral installation by Snickel Lane Florist.

Logan Bow
A multidisciplinary artist and emerging architect whose practice bridges visual art, design, and spatial exploration. Currently pursuing a Master of Architecture (Professional) and Urban Design at the University of Auckland, he integrates architectural precision and material experimentation into his work. Logan’s practice explores polymethyl methacrylate through distortion, flow, and symmetry, translating planar surfaces into dimensional expressions. By merging architectural insight with playful curiosity, he pushes creative boundaries that question the relationships between figure, material, and space. His work seeks to evoke moments of reflection and connection between viewer, maker, and the spatial imagination.

Gerda Satunas
A ceramic artist based in Dunedin, New Zealand, born in Vilnius, Lithuania. After studying and living in Amsterdam, Spain, and London, she completed a BA (Hons) in Costume Design for Performance at the London College of Fashion (University of the Arts London). She worked on projects for Madame Tussauds and the Royal Opera House before transitioning from costume and design into ceramics. Working with porcelain and stoneware clay, Satunas explores transformation, emotion, and a deeply personal healing journey. Her practice merges her European heritage with the natural beauty of Aotearoa, resulting in sensual, organic forms enriched with layered glazes and gold lustre. Currently a postgraduate ceramics student at Dunedin School of Art, she continues to push experimental techniques and intricate sculptural detail.
